WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Hundreds of runners crowded the streets of Downtown Wilmington Thursday night for the 5K run for Preservation.
This is the 12th year the Historic Wilmington Foundation has hosted the run. The proceeds from the race will help the Foundation protect and preserve Downtown and will contribute to various programs.
People running the race said they're here for the good time.
"A lot of colleagues and friends do this," said Michelle Britt. "So we try and do it every year together, and it's a really good bonding experience."
The winner of the race was Clint Henry of Wilmington. He finished it in 17 minutes and 35 seconds.
